Position Summary

The Business Unit Compliance Director for Originations will support the compliance initiatives for the enterprise and the Originations business line by performing a number of activities related to the Company’s compliance and audit functions including, but not limited to, assisting with the ongoing administration and implementation of the compliance program, coordinating various compliance activities, including training, testing, audit and risk assessments.  Monitors compliance calendar, training schedules, audits, new or amended policies and procedures, as well as overall compliance program administration.   This position reports to the SVP of Compliance with a dotted line to the Business Unit Executives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs compliance testing, documentation and implementation of changes to policies and procedures as well as coordinating communications of same
  • Support Company’s efforts on all regulatory, corporate compliance, and client compliance examinations, including advance preparation, coordination of all information gathering between business units during the audit/exam and remediation actions
  • Escalate matters of non-compliance and/or recommendations for improvement to SVP of Compliance and Business Unit Executives
  • Coordinate and document periodic compliance meetings with Business Unit Executives, the Executive Team, and Legal and Compliance leadership, as appropriate
  • Coordinate with various levels of management across the enterprise including but not limited to Legal and Compliance, Information Security and Information Technology, Accounting and Finance, and Human Resources
  • Identify opportunities of systemic and procedural improvements for the various operational teams
  • Participate in continuous process improvements and high quality standards with a focus on responsiveness to the internal/external customer and regulatory controls
  • Ensure compliance initiatives are implemented timely and effectively
  • Draft and/or revise compliance policies and procedures, as requested
  • Ensure alignment of Business Unit compliance policies and procedures with corporate compliance policies and procedures.
  • Perform other projects and special assignments as requested


  • Basic knowledge of title insurance and settlement services and operations
  • Knowledge of eConnect reporting and functionality
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office
