We are currently looking for an experienced Escrow Officer versed in CA DBO regulation and oversight. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge base in Escrow and Closing Operations on a National Level. In addition, the ability to manage the day-to-day office management and escrow compliance oversight based on CA DBO Regulations.

Position Summary

 

The California Escrow Officer works directly with the Closing Operations Manager and is responsible for ensuring their team’s performance meets or exceeds company standards while maintaining client satisfaction. The incumbent is accountable for all aspects of the escrow closing process and communicates routinely with all internal staff, clients, borrowers and agents to obtain any information needed to be able to close the transaction.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain escrow accounts in compliance with industry procedures and polices
  • Obtain and review preliminary title reports and clear various liens and judgments to ensure it compliance with Mortgage Connect/Client guidelines
  • Address inquiries from clients, borrowers, agents and internal staff professionally and in a timely manner
  • Communicate lender, title and others for costs in preparing the ALTA settlement statements
  • Closing Disclosure issuance
  • Communicate with Lender/Clients and obtain all closing conditions in order to obtain funding
  • Prepare and review transaction documents
  • Balance file and perform closing, prepare and distribute all disbursements, including wires
  • Act as a leader within the company
  • Manage escrow team
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly remittance reports
  • Assist in follow up on outstanding checks for monthly reconciliation
  • Follow up on final title policies from vendors
  • Follow up on policy rejects
  • Respond to policy requests and inquiries
  • Monitor work area to ensure compliance with of security of NPI data
  • Monitor and maintain the scanning/copiers and office are free of NPI data
  • Maintain Security of office area, including locking doors and cabinets for protection of company documentation and information

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years escrow experience
  • Experience in resale, refinance and REO escrow transactions, commercial experience is a plus
  • DBO Escrow licensed or qualified to be licensed as an Escrow Manager by the California DBO
  • Experienced and comfortable in a high volume national closing environment
