Overview

This position will be accountable for analyzing the data architecture needs for enterprise functions and help define enterprise data architecture strategic roadmaps for Mortgage Connect. He/She/They will partner with the business stakeholders as well as the supporting enterprise technology teams to drive the data strategy forward.

 

Responsibilities

  • Establish data architecture principles, build models of data that enable the implementation of the business architecture, generate diagrams displaying keydata entities, and produce an inventory of the data needed to realize the architecture vision.
  • Define how the data is stored, consumed, coordinated and led by different data entities and IT systems.
  • Engage with the data management team in best practices for data sourcing, key data elements, data quality management and metadata.
  • Build expertise in diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.
  • Develops the data architecture and governance models for systems of engagement and provides the framework for integrating source systems with the transactional databases or data warehouse
  • Design and architect end-to-end solutions for data processing.
  • Lead and develop large-scale projects and initiatives(Ex: Enterprise Data Warehouse) that challenge the status quo when it comes to how we process data
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Data Analysts to identify and design ways to extend our technology stack
  • Understand business objectives, research potential strategies, architect and design solutions.
  • Participate in business and technology strategic planning processes and guide business capability and technical capability initiative roadmaps.
  • Focus on the consistency, completeness, interoperability and quality of solutions.
  • Advocate for simple, standard, centralized and automated solutions to business needs.
  • Leads technical teams and has a responsibility for data architecture and data technical design for multiple business units across the organization.
  • Build a unified data and analytics ecosystem that drives improved business decisions supported by transformative architecture capabilities.
  • Deliver business value and improve decision making by identifying and building data solutions, self-service data and reporting capabilities in alignment with business priorities and Data Strategy
  • Reviews and ensures architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible, and cost effective.
  • Provides strategic guidance to senior leadership for data movement strategies, data obfuscation (data masking), record retention strategy (Deletion and Archival), data infrastructure/security, the operational data store (ODS) and the operational reporting strategy.
  • Provides the framework for defining the data model of the operational database or data warehouse
  • Additional Duties, as assigned  

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in Information Technology within a complex, matrixed business environment, including experience in Mortgage industry
  • 12+ years of experience in a Data Architect role working with cross-functional teams (within IT and/or within the business) on enterprise level or complex system implementations
  • Knowledge of best practices related to Data Lake, Data Lake Governance, Data Security and Data Integration & Interoperability
  • Experience with Agile framework and DevOps
  • Experience with ETL tools like Talend, Informatica, etc.
  • Experience in Designing MDM solutions
  • Clear Verbal and Written Communication Skills and strong Attention to Detail
  • Ability to Work in Fast-Paced Environment and Meet Deadlines
  • Capability to Work both Independently and as part of a Team
  • Problem-Solving Mindset with Ability to Multitask
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to Work with Minimal Supervision

  • Experience with All Aspects of System Development Lifecycle
  • Working Knowledge of Successful Software Development Methodologies and Best Practices
  • Demonstrated Ability to Create/Maintain Large Sets of Documentation (Writing Samples Appreciated)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical reports, and documentation
  • Present information to executive and senior management teams, sales department, internal groups and/or clients
