Overview

 


The Senior Systems Administrator’s primary function is to administer the day-to-day operations of the Windows systems to ensure 99.999% availability.  A Senior Systems Administrator is also responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the support core organizational functions. 


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Assists with Administering day-to-day operations of Windows.

  • System administration, hardware and software management for a Microsoft Office O365 environment.

  • Azure environment support and administration.

  • VMWare, vSphere, ESXi environment support and administration.

  • Managing shared storage in a SAN & NAS environment.

  • Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server, and server hardware.

  • Domain Name registry and SSL certificate maintenance and installation.

  • Server systems architecture, performance, and tuning.

  • Assists with the development of project plans for the implementation or re-implementation of new LAN technology and systems

  • Backup and recovery procedures and operation

  • Assists with providing integrated team support and maintenance of hardware and software

  • Research server/maintenance hardware and software products to determine those which best meet company needs

  • Assists with product evaluations and new products/technologies

  • Assists in the monitoring of performance and maintenance of server security

  • Frequently lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds when setting up equipment

  • Establishes and maintains Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plan and objectives related to system infrastructures

  • Demonstrates deep and broad product knowledge.

  • Communicate technical and complex information both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to solve problems across multiple domains.

  • Mentor the lower-level admins to increase their knowledge.

  • On- Call rotation with other team members.

  • Accomplishes all the above in accordance with standard procedures

  • All other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of related work experience

  • Experience in a Windows environment a must

  • Knowledge of Azure and/or AWS

  • Certifications a plus

  • Effective problem-solving skills

  • Organizational skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Proven analytical skills

  • Leadership skills

  • Ability to multitask

  • Collaborative/enjoys working in teams

  • Highly productive in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to handle change and ambiguity
