Overview

Position Summary

The role of the Technical BA is to develop and refine requirements, plan and execute projects, and work closely with stakeholders, developers and QA through project delivery.  The Technical BA position requires knowledge of the Mortgage industry, preferably the title and closing business in a fast paced, client driven environment.  This role should also have experience in acquiring resources, planning, and maintaining software applications.  The Technical BA will also define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle and ensure accuracy with Production requirements.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Hands on gather Requirements or Help in gathering requirements and produce functional and technical requirement documents
  • Take full ownership of the execution of the project from inception to closure
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management
  • Coordinate demonstrations of project milestones with stakeholders, as well as final user acceptance testing and approval
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • All other duties assigned 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor' Degree or equivalent or four to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in the mortgage industry as it relates to property loans on purchases, refinances, modifications, foreclosures and REO sales
  • 5-10 years direct work experience in a BA role and hands on experience with all aspects of process development and execution
  • Project management or scrum master certifications are a plus  
  • Technically competent with various software programs
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
  • Technical project management experience in an Application Development environment
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
  • Flexible during times of change, overtime required
  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
  • Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
  • Strong interpersonal skills, display behavior that will enhance the client experience
  • Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial

 

Language Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively present information to senior and executive management teams, public groups and/or boards of directors
